ALL ABOUT EMBROIDERY THREADEmbroidery Threads Rayon threads: We use these in most of our embroideries. Rayon threads have a brilliant sheen that looks wonderful. And with a selection of close to 400 different colors, these are sure to please. Rayon threads are machine washable in cold or warm water with mild detergent. Polyester threads: These are almost identical in appearance to Rayon threads. In some colors, there is slightly less sheen as in Rayon threads. Polyester threads can really take a beating. These are ideal for heavily soiled, stained and frequently washed articles such as sportswear, children's wear, safetywear, workwear, hotel and cateringwear. Please request polyester thread if you anticipate washing your embroidered articles with chlorine bleach. Metallic threads: These add beautiful detail to many designs. Metallic threads come in a full range of colors and a variety of gold and silver sheens. There are metallic threads with iridescent and opalescent luster, soft textures and subtle character. There are even metallic threads with holographic effects. These threads are machine washable using a gentle cycle and cold or warm water with mild detergent. Glow in the Dark threads: A great idea for Halloween. Also a great safety feature on clothing for people who run, walk or jog along streets at night. Kids really get a kick out of pajamas, nightgowns, pillows and blankets embroidered with these glow in the dark threads. And have no fear, these threads are machine washable in cold or warm water with mild detergent. Wool like threads: These add a hand-done fuzzy effect to embroidery. Kinda like your grandmother might have made. These work really well in cross stitch designs. Custom colors: No problem. Just give us the Pantone color number, and we'll match the thread.
